2019 Professional Development Seminar Series
Join the staff and volunteers of other informal education organizations at these STEM-focused seminars. Explore research and content with hands-on, minds-on activities and investigations designed to enhance science education at your institution and expand your knowledge of current educational pedagogy and state-wide educational initiatives. Discover ways to strengthen your science content knowledge and leave with the skills and tools to enrich your school programs, exhibits and public programs.
Dates: January 31, February 28, March 21, April 25
Time: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Location: Higgins University Center, Clark University, Worcester, MA
Cost: $45 per seminar; $125 for any 3 seminars; $160 for all 4 seminars
A buffet-style lunch is included.
Certificates of participation are available for each seminar. PDPs are available to those who have attended 2 or more seminar dates.
Please bring a laptop or tablet with you if possible.
Lighting the Way with Wind and Solar: Pathways to a Sustainable Energy Future
In this 2-day focus workshop, middle and high school educators will connect with scientists and educators from the Wade Institute for Science Education and Mass Audubon, gain an understanding of the power of inquiry-based learning to inspire a passion for science in students, and come away energized!
Dates: Friday, March 22nd, and Saturday, March 23rd, 2019
Time: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Location: Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center (1 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, MA 01950)
Cost: $145 (includes lunch both days and a kit of materials)

2019 Summer Professional Development Institutes
Engaging Your Students in the Science and Engineering Practices
Join us for your choice of hands-on, minds-on, STEM-focused professional development institutes held across Massachusetts. Spend a week with fellow teachers on-site at multiple partner organizations, and experience effective, inquiry-based science learning!
Dates: Weekdays, July 8-12 or July 15-19
Cost: $425 per participant ($400 per participant if attending with 1 other teacher from your school district; $375 per participant if attending with 2 or more teachers from your school district)
Early Bird Discount Available – register and submit payment before March 31st, 2019 to receive an additional $25 off of your registration cost.
PDPs and optional Graduate Credit are available in all regions.
