Museum Institute for Teaching Science

The Museum Institute for Teaching Science (MITS, Inc.) is pleased to welcome Brianna Wilkinson and Karen Chretien to its staff.  Brianna joins MITS as Assistant Education Director and Karen as Development Director.

Brianna Wilkinson comes to MITS from her time in Rochester, New York as a life sciences teacher. She holds a BA in Biology and an MS in Teaching and Curriculum. She has experienced science in a wide range of settings, including museum stages, after-school programs, New England ponds, and tropical rain-forests. During these experiences, she built an understanding of inquiry learning and its value. She joins MITS as the Assistant Education Director, and looks forward to working closely with Director of Education Linda McIntosh to coordinate and develop MITS’ program offerings.

Karen has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit organizations, primarily in fundraising roles focused on corporate and foundation relations. She has raised funds for small and mid-sized organizations in fields such as education, healthcare and social services. Her goals at MITS include diversifying the sources of funds and raising resources for new programs. She enjoys discussing an organization’s mission and programs with donors. Karen has a Master’s degree in management and social policy and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is a life-long science buff who enjoys reading science fiction and spending time with her family.

MITS looks forward to working with Brianna and Karen!
